I love and appreciate the natural wear and scars of the parts I find. Aside from a few minor cleanups and touch-ups, I let the personality and the history of the pieces show.

A few years ago, we met a man with truckloads of old, non-rideable, abandoned motorcycles. When we asked him what would happen to the bikes, he said they would go back to Japan where he would restore them and find new homes for them. I said "you're giving them a new life." He replied, "No, I'm giving them their second life."
